Bolingbroke Terrace

The design of a terrace of 7 new-build townhouses, located in a conservation area in Wandsworth. 

Each house has a private garden at the rear and a basement patio at the front which serves the family room. There is a communal car lift, serving the basement parking, which is provided for all houses.

Searcy House, Battersea Rise

Conversion and extension of an existing 4 storey warehouse building, situated in a prominent location in Wandsworth.

The existing building was sensitively refurbished, whilst the extension was designed to provide a contrast, being provided with rendered facades, large aluminium windows and a louvered base for privacy to the ground floor rooms.

Stanley Gardens

Conversion of a former gas depot, previously used as B1 Offices, to a block of residential apartments (exercising permitted development rights).

A mix of units was achieved including studios, one bedroom and two bedroom flats, for rental purposes.

Lou Pichot

Renovation and part reconstruction of an existing Provençal ' Mazet' to create a family home, coupled with a contemporary extension.

In the existing portion, the daylighting and proportions were enhanced, whilst the extension was constructed in 'pissee', a local technique of massive walls constructed in earth.

Mas de ficorum

Renovation and part reconstruction of an existing Provençal ' Mazet' to create a family home and new swimming pool.

In the existing building, the daylighting and proportions were enhanced while a contempoary living was enriched by the insertion of modern screens that allow light to enter but at the same time gave the right amount of shade to the South evelation.

Single storey extension of a Georgian house to create a link between living area and kitchen

Fernacres

Whilst the existing regency home had some fine rooms, previous extensions had created a very disjointed and disappointing layout.

The project, therefore, concentrated on the complete remodelling of the interior, creating a large central hall, new staircase, and roof light to create a cohesive plan form.

London refurbishment

Recent examples of central London residential properties include the refurbishment of a two bedroom flat in South Kensington and a family house on north Kensington.

The projects comprised substantial remodelling of the interiors to improve the flow of space and enhance the relationship between inside and out.

Mas St. Joseph, Provence

Extensive renovation of this Provencal Mas to create a large family property, including new guest room annexe with five bedrooms and outdoor summer dining loggia.

Recent projects have included refurbishment of the original house together with a new pool house, gymnasium and pergola dining space.

Chemin Des Mattouins

This existing Mas in Provence had been renovated in the 1960's and resembled a villa on the Côte d'Azur, with its pink rendered walls.

The project was to create an attractive family pavilion house for the client and his immediate family. There was another house for guests.

House In St. Remy

This townhouse in the centre of St Remy de Provence was carefully restored and, during the process, many beautiful original features were uncovered.

The medieval stone staircase and arched vaults had been concealed behind partition walls, whilst the original beams were retained at all levels.

Cap d’Antibes

This 'Spanish-style' villa was completely remodelled inside and out to create a contemporary family house with swimming pool overlooking the Mediterranean.

The open plan living, kitchen and dining space is located at first floor, with terraces on all sides, achieving good natural daylighting and spectacular views throughout.

Beach House

The creation of a family holiday home on the Dunes on Robberg Bay, where the main key elements of the design were the integration if the building into its landscape and the need to benefit from the fabulous views.

Natural light was also important and so the central lantern illuminating the double height atrium space was essential. 

The Meadows

The brief for this beautiful site was to create a large 'cape cod' style family house with a guest annexe and garage, incorporating staff accommodation.

The main house is arranged at each end of a large double height central hall with an open fireplace and views through to the swimming pool and lagoon beyond.

Tino Crescent

Traditional Cape Dutch house in Plettenberg Bay, remodelled to create a contemporary open plan home, integrated with its landscaped gardens, outdoor pavilions and loggias.

This modest size house in the heart of Plettenberg Bay was totally reorganised and reoriented to benefit from the beautiful garden that now surrounds it.

Easthampstead

Internal and external refurbishment of a Grade 2 Listed Building in the Easthampstead Park. 

Courtyard Scheme, Barnes

Redevelopment of backlands site to provide a mixed use scheme, with 5 no B1 Office units and 6 residential apartments.

Set behind a parade of shops in Church Road to the north and residential properties to the south, it is a sensitive site, demanding no loss of amenity to the adjacent occupiers.

30 Pavilion Road, Knightsbridge, London

A scheme has been prepared for the redevelopment of this prominent site near Harrods, comprising a boutique hotel and residential apartments.

The massing of the proposed building largely replicates the existing, due to daylighting constraints and the effect on surrounding properties.

Brigade, The Ground Floor

The intention was to create an interesting and welcoming feel while maintaining a contemporary edge.

The Lighting was designed to create different ambience a for different times of day and to provide a certain degree of variable background lighting together with directional lighting for the artwork.

Brigade, The First Floor

This element of the project provides the home of the Cook School, but also the private dining rooms, which are essential to the viability of the restaurant operation.

The central kitchen is the space where the Apprentices learn their trade. It is, therefore, a functional space, first and foremost, with the donated fire painting in the background.

Searcy- Refurbishment

This traditional venue for high-quality parties has recently been refurbished throughout.

The works have included the marble Entrance Hall and ground floor anteroom, main staircase and upper-level bar, Library and Ballroom.

Chateau de Roussan

External annexes refurbishment of a Provençal Mas, situated in the 'protected zone' of the 'national parc des Alpilles',  under the  jurisdiction of the 'Architect des Batiments de France'.

Garsington Opera

Design and management of the hospitality tent and marquees at the new Garsington Opera at Wormsley

The tents are designed to accommodate 650 guests dining and picnicking and are laid out in a serpentine format, reflecting the organic shape of the glorious parkland and lake.

Service Offices

Business Exchange was a 'brand' of Serviced Offices which was created, developed and executed by AMA  Architects for MWB.

Childhood First

Scheme to convert existing building, a disused golf clubhouse to create a residential home and school for children with special needs

The intention is to remodel the building internally and externally to create an appropriate ambience, with the home and school functions being deliberately separately.

Wool Pack pub

The Woolpack Hotel is a Grade 2 Listed Building, located on the north side of Tenterden High Street,
adjacent to the east boundary of St Mildred’s churchyard.

Swan pub

Retention and restoration of the Swan Pub, a Grade 2 Listed building situated in the city centre of Forest Row village.
